Flexibility, Culture & Connection: Why Finnplay Felt Like the Right Fit

What I enjoy most is the genuinely friendly and respectful atmosphere. There’s a real sense of openness and support across the team.
Personal Journey at Finnplay
I joined Finnplay after discovering the role toward the end of my maternity leave. At the time, I wasn’t very familiar with the company and was a bit unsure about returning to work. But the more I learned, the more it felt like a great fit — especially because of the welcoming team culture and the flexibility it offered during that big life transition.
Since joining, I’ve had the chance to work closely with people across the company, and that human connection is something I truly value in my role.
Life at Finnplay
My days usually start with coffee and a quick inbox check. Then it’s reviewing applicants, scheduling interviews, and reaching out to candidates — either directly or via LinkedIn when it’s a harder-to-fill role. If I’m working from the office, I love checking in with the team and seeing if we can grab lunch together.
What stands out the most to me at Finnplay is the atmosphere. No matter your role or background, people make an effort to be approachable, respectful, and collaborative. There’s also a strong sense of autonomy — you’re trusted to manage your work without micromanagement, which makes a big difference.
One of my favourite team memories? When our Tallinn team visited us in Espoo. We had a paint night together, followed by dinner at my favourite taco spot — a perfect mix of creativity and connection.
Beyond Work
If I could switch roles with anyone at Finnplay for a day, I’d definitely choose someone from the Backend Java team. I’d love to better understand what goes into building and maintaining our platform — though I’m pretty sure I’d need more than a day to fully grasp it!
