Now we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team. The Legal Counsel will play a key role in supporting our legal and compliance functions with our international business as well as upcoming Finnish igaming legislation. You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks that will challenge and expand your expertise. You will work closely with senior management and other teams to ensure that Finnplay operates in compliance with Finnish and International laws, including contract law, consumer protection, and data protection. This role is located in Espoo, Finland and reports to the Managing Director. We expect you to come to the office at least twice a week.
Salary for this role will be 6000€-7000€/month gross.
YOUR JOB IN A NUTSHELL:
- Provide legal support for Finnplay across all areas of the business, with a focus on contract law, consumer law, and compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with vendors, suppliers, and other third parties.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Finnish legislations.
- Advise on corporate governance matters and help implement best practices in the company’s operations.
- Prepare, review, and finalize a wide range of legal documents, including agreements, powers of attorney, internal policies, and compliance statements.
- Assist senior management in decision-making processes, providing legal insights and guidance.
- Ensure that the company’s internal processes are aligned with internal, local and international regulatory requirements.
- Participate in cross-border projects, collaborating with international teams on compliance and regulatory matters.
- Act as the primary point of contact for regulators and other relevant external stakeholders.
- Manage the legal aspects of data protection, including maintaining compliance with GDPR and other relevant data privacy regulations.
IN ORDER TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE, THESE ARE SOME OF MUST-HAVES:
- University degree in Law (LL.M. or equivalent).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, ideally gained in-house or with a reputable law firm, with a strong focus on Finnish and International contract law, consumer law, and compliance.
- Proven expertise in European Data Protection Regulations.
- Ability to work independently, with a flexible and open-minded approach to problem-solving.
- High ethical standards and a strong commitment to legal and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills in Finnish and English.
TO TRULY EXCEL IN THE ROLE, THESE ARE SOME OF THE NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Previous experience from highly regulated industry (gaming, banking, medicine, airline) is a plus.
- Experience in Finnish employment law.
